Last year, twitter had me thoroughly entertained on World Baking Day. Angel (@yesreallyangel) ended the day covered in Cake batter and glitter with a huge smile on her mug and it really made me quite jealous that I had not gotten involved. You can imagine my delight when 2, very serious looking fellows strode into the sweet shop on Friday and bestowed upon my partner Di, the box that you see pictured below. She was instructed to ensure it arrived in my safe hands by sunset. (I, in the mean time, was stuck in bed with the worst flu ever to have hit planet Earth)
After about 2 hours of sitting at home, the excitement got the better of me and I shot out of bed and drove down to retrieve my mystery box. I opened it to reveal a super awesome concept that I cannot wait to get involved in. I discovered beautifully and thoughtfully packed ingredients (how sweet are the eggs, safely packed in little tube) and a challenge to use the above Stork ingredients to bake a very delicious looking Milk Tart Cake.
World Baking Day encourages people around the world to step out of their comfort zones and step up to the plate, or oven in this case. I plan on making the individual parts that make up this glorious cake, inviting my besties around and encouraging them put together their own mini Milk Tart Cakes and share Baking Day me. (I will post about that on Monday)
If you would like to get involved, click through to the World Baking Day website here , choose your baking level, accept the challenge and spend a great day in the kitchen.
